Referrals to the clinic may be initiated by physicians, hospitals, school personnel, parents, public health nurses, and case managers. Clinics are also offered for patients scheduled for follow-up after inpatient hospitalization.
The goal of the clinic is to provide maximum rehabilitation services to physically disabled children, adolescents, and adults in the community. To accomplish this, physicians, rehabilitation nurses, and allied health professionals participate in the evaluation and goal-setting process. Specialty services available within the system are physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, psychology, orthotics, prosthetics, driver rehabilitation, nutritional services, social work, OrthoSEAT, vocational rehabilitation, radiology, and laboratory services.
