Vicki Jean Johnson was born in Cadillac at the end of World War II. She grew up on Lake Cadillac where she realized a true appreciation for nature and the beautiful things that it provides to all.
She started the craft of silk ribbon embroidery after she returned to northern Michigan later in life. Vicki moved into Brazilian embroidery because the work challenges her and the final piece is quite neat through the three dimensions it gives to the finished piece.
She works from home doing research and writing, thus she has more time to play with her art work in both silk ribbon embroidery and Brazilian embroidery.
The Mary Free Bed show gives my work a medium to show and for others to enjoy as much as she enjoys making them.
