The Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital Expansion and Renovation Groundbreaking Ceremony was held on April 9, 2013. Over 250 guests attended this historic event, which included comments from Mary Free Bed CEO Kent Riddle, Mary Free Bed Guild President Shelley Mishler, Michigan Director of Community Health Jim Haveman, and Susan Ford Bales.
On Tuesday, April 9, 2013 Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital broke ground on a $54 million expansion and renovation project. The groundbreaking ceremony included an announcement of the Betty Bloomer Ford Cancer Rehabilitation Program and of the Guild's lead gift of $16 million for the project.
The temporary fencing is up and the construction crews are on-site this week to work on the Saint Mary’s lot west of the main Mary Free Bed building and in the Schnitz lot. The islands in the parking will be removed and you can expect to see a new layer of asphalt next week.
