Physical Therapy Residency Benefits

Time Off With Pay


  • 6 days per year; eligible upon hire

Total Time Off (TTO)

  • Combination of vacation, sick leave, and personal time
  • Accrues from hire date; eligible to use after 3 months
  • Full-time accrual:
    • 18 days/year

Extended Illness Insurance (EII)

  • Income protection for lengthy illnesses
  • Accrues from hire date; eligible to use from hire date
  • Full time accrual:
    • 6 days/year  

Short-Term Disability

  • Eligible if at least .75 FTE (30 hours/week)
  • Effective immediately
  • Benefit equals 60% of earnings to a maximum of $400/week
  • Payable beginning on 32nd day of disability; 26 week maximum
  • No employee contribution

Voluntary Long-Term Disability (optional)

  • Eligible if at least .75 FTE (30 hours/week)
  • Available for purchase at group rates, based on age
  • Benefit equals 60% of pay
  • Premiums payroll deducted

Health Benefits and Tax Savings

Medical Insurance (optional)

  • Includes prescription drugs, hospitalization, preventative care, diagnostic X-ray and lab, doctor fees, mental health
  • Effective one month after eligibility date
  • 2 options available:
    • 1) Prioriy Health PPO
    • 2) Priority Health self-funded EPO plan
  • Employee pre-tax contributions required

Dental Insurance (optional)

  • Includes preventative, restorative, and orthodontia
  • Effective six months after eligibility date
  • Employee pre-tax contributions required with some elections

Vision Insurance (optional)

  • Includes coverage for exams, lenses, frames, and contact lens care
  • Extra discounts and savings also apply
  • Effective one month from date of hire – then the first of the next month
  • One option available: VSP
  • Employee pre-tax contributions required

Multi-Flex Benefit Plan (optional)

  • Employee annual pre-tax contributions to health and/or dependent care reimbursement accounts
  • Eligible upon hire
  • Maximum annual contribution of $5,200 for health care and $5,000 for dependent care

Life Insurance

Basic Life and AD&D Insurance

  • Effective immediately
  • Benefit equals 1.5 times annual earnings; maximum of $50,000
  • No employee contribution

Voluntary Life and AD&D Insurance (optional)

  • Available for purchase at group rates, based on age
  • Coverage available for employee, spouse, and children
  • Various coverage levels available
  • Premiums payroll deducted


Workers' Compensation

  • Covering work-related illnesses or injuries
  • Benefits for medical expenses, wage loss, and vocational rehabilitation
  • Covered upon hire

Direct Deposit

  • Automatic deposit of paycheck into checking and/or savings account
  • Eligible upon hire

Tuition Reimbursement

Reimbursement for college and university courses

Eligible after 90 days

Annual benefit amount:

$2,500 for full time (36 hours/week)

$1,000 for part time (20-35 hours/week)

Additional benefit available for employees pursuing Nursing degrees

Courses or degree must be related to current or future job at Mary Free Bed

Continuing Education

  • For seminars, workshops, conferences, and other job training
  • Eligible upon hire
  • Funds allocated at discretion of department manager
