Goalball is a paralympic sport for the blind and visually impaired. Persons with all forms of visual impairments can participate, as participants wear “black out” goggles to ensure a level playing field. Two teams of three face each other on a volleyball-sized court. The goal of the game is to roll a ball with a bell inside past the opposing team and into their goal. Players use their bodies to attempt to block the ball.
The Paralympic Experience
The Paralympic Experience is a day-long celebration of Paralympic sport. The goal of the program is to show individuals with physical and visual disabilities how participation in sport and living a healthy, active lifestyle can have a profoundly positive impact on their lives.
