Adaptive Sailing Clinic

Boaters with disabilities can fly on the wind at the Adaptive Sailing Clinic. At this favorite warm weather clinic, boaters learn technique and gentle finesse to keep their sails in control and their boats headed into the open waters.

Adaptive sailing has been a part of the Paralympic Games since 2000. Sailors with disabilities may include those who have visual impairments, brain injury, spinal cord injury, strokes, cerebral palsy, and those that have had amputations. Sailing is an inclusive sport that can be a life long leisure pursuit. The sail boat itself creates an even playing field for all because of its ease of use. The opportunities for recreational and competitive sailing, and recognition of this sport as a serious athletic discipline continues to expand.
