Vocational Rehab Services
Vocational rehabilitation services can help you return to employment following your amputation. Mary Free Bed works with Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS), a government agency whose mission is to help those with disabilities achieve employment and self-sufficiency. An MRS on-site rehabilitation counselor is available at Mary Free Bed two days a week.
You're eligible to receive services from MRS at Mary Free Bed if:

You're a Mary Free Bed inpatient or outpatient

Your amputation or other disability prevents you from returning to previous employment

Your disability prevents you from entering the job market
MRS's services include: skill training, job placement, job coaching, assistive technology, transportation, and much more. A referral can be made to the MRS counselor by anyone; however, most referrals are made by a member of the therapy team or the attending physician.p>
