A Typical Day
Each person’s rehabilitation plan is tailored to his or her needs and goals. However, a typical day generally includes:
Morning Care Routine
Morning hygiene, breakfast, dressing with nursing or therapy.
Daily checks by the physician for management of medical needs.
Therapists will work with the individual on specific goals related to mobility, self care, communication, thinking, learning, recreation, social skills, psychological adjustment, and behavior.
Lunch and rest break
Therapists will continue working with the individual on specific rehabilitation goals.
Rest break and evening meal
Patients may decide to spend their evenings relaxing, visiting with family, friends or other patients. They may also choose to participate in some of the evening activities, such as pet therapy, or in solitary activities that have been arranged by the recreation therapist.
Evening Care Routines
Evening hygiene and getting ready for bed.
