Daniel C. Fechtner, MD
Dr. Daniel Fechtner joined Mary Free Bed as a full-time physiatrist in 2013. He formerly worked at the Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York, which is the teaching hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Fechtner, a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School, focuses his practice on spasticity management, oncology rehabilitation, Parkinson's disease and other neurologic conditions.
W. Christian VandenBerg, MD
Dr. Chris VandenBerg is medical director of program development and network development for Mary Free Bed. He has been an attending physician here since 1989 and is former co-medical director for Spectrum Health rehabilitation programs. Dr. Vandenberg also is medical director of the Betty Bloomer Ford Cancer Rehabilitation program at Mary Free Bed. He focuses on traumatic and non-traumatic neurological patients (spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke and multiple sclerosis), spasticity/dystonia and rehabilitation care for cancer patients.
Lorraine (Lori) J. Pearl-Kraus, PhD, CS, FNP-BC
Dr. Pearl-Kraus joined Mary Free Bed in 2012 as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and coordinator of the cancer rehabilitation program. She has more than 30 years of advanced nursing practice clinical experience in the areas of neurosurgery/trauma, primary care and oncology clinical research trials and has been teaching graduate-level courses to college students for more than 20 years.
Additional Cancer Team Members
The Mary Free Bed cancer rehabilitation team specializes in delivering patient-centered/family-centered care to cancer survivors and their families. The team, which includes nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, recreational therapists, dietitians, social workers and mental health professionals, is knowledgeable in general rehabilitation as well as cancer rehabilitation. Many members have been trained through a nationally recognized program for cancer survivorship and rehabilitation.
