A Typical Day in SCI Inpatient Rehabilitation
Your SCI rehabilitation plan is tailored to your needs and goals. A typical day generally includes:
Morning Care Routine
Morning hygiene, breakfast, dressing with nursing or therapy.
Physician Rounds
Daily checks by the physician for management of medical needs.
Morning Therapies
Therapists will work with the individual on specific goals related to mobility, self care, communication, thinking, learning, recreation, social skills, psychological adjustment, and behavior.
Lunch and rest break
Afternoon Therapies
Therapists will continue working with the individual on specific rehabilitation goals. Rest break and evening meal Evening Activities Patients may decide to spend their evenings relaxing, visiting with family, friends or other patients. They may also choose to participate in some of the evening activities, such as pet therapy, or in solitary activities that have been arranged by the recreation therapist.
