Custom Orthotics for Improved Walking After a Stroke
If you've experienced a stroke, muscle weakness or problems with sensation may require an ankle brace for improved and more independent walking. Custom made orthoses (braces) are fabricated by Mary Free Bed's on-site Orthotics Department. Your physical therapist and orthotist work together to determine which type of brace is best suited for your needs.
Having an in-house team of orthotics experts means continued collaboration between your therapist and orthotist during subsequent therapy sessions. With your input, your therapist and otrhotist work together to determine if you need adjustments or further modifications for optimal performance.
