Amputee Outpatient & Clinic Services

Amputee Outpatient Services
Due to the time required for the healing process after surgery, fitting of a prosthesis usually will not occur during the inpatient stay. Most patients will receive their prosthetic limb and begin training using their prosthesis in the outpatient setting. Patients who live at home may return to Mary Free Bed’s Outpatient Therapy Center for ongoing therapy sessions focusing on functional ambulation and activities of daily living training using their prosthesis.

Adult Regional Amputee Clinic
Patients return periodically to Mary Free Bed for follow-up care, physical and occupational therapy evaluation, physician assessment, adaptive equipment, prosthetic modification or training, and other specialized services, as needed. Patients using our clinic services may or may not be previous Mary Free Bed patients.
