Continuum of Care
Our full range of services provides our patients the specialized care they need throughout their entire rehab process. We work with our patients to achieve the highest level of physical and emotional adjustment possible.

Inpatient Care
Patients must be medically stable, able to participate in three hours of therapy per day, able to demonstrate progress, and have an identified discharge site to be admitted to 24-hour-a-day care at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. Hip replacement and knee replacement patients follow identified clinical pathways that usually run approximately three to four days for a knee replacement and five to six days for a hip replacement. The length of stay for someone who has experienced a hip fracture may vary based on his or her needs and medical restrictions. Our focus is on regaining strength and endurance, functional mobility, activities of daily living, and adjustment to disability.

Outpatient Care
Patients who need continued therapy following their discharge from our inpatient program may choose to receive therapy at our outpatient facility, or if they prefer continued therapy closer to their own home, we will make arrangements for that as well.

Treatment and Therapy Facilities
Mary Free Bed offers a variety of specialized services designed to make rehabilitation following a joint replacement or hip fracture quicker, smoother, and more effective. These include: our Independence Square™ (a simulated grocery store, restaurant, ATM, and other community environments), two Apartments for Daily Living, a therapeutic pool, an outdoor therapy area, and our Driver Rehabilitation Program.
