Patients must require 24-hour physician and rehabilitation nursing care, have potential for learning and carryover, require one or more therapy disciplines, require intensity of services not available on an outpatient basis, have family or support persons available for any necessary training and have an identified discharge site. Generally, patients participate in three or more hours of therapy each day. Some of our more acute patients may not be ready immediately for a full three hours of therapy per day, so will receive a combination of three hours or more of rehabilitation nursing care and therapy to build their tolerance.
