Getting Back to Work After a Stroke
If your stroke left you with impairments that make it difficult to return to work, ask someone on your Mary Free Bed rehabilitation team to help you get in touch with Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) for vocational rehabilitation.
Michigan Rehabilitation Services
Mary Free Bed works with MRS, a government agency whose mission it is to help those with disabilities achieve employment and self-sufficiency. An MRS on-site rehabilitation counselor is available at Mary Free Bed two days a week.
Eligibility
You're eligible to receive services at Mary Free Bed from Michigan Rehabilitation Services if:

You're a Mary Free Bed inpatient or outpatient

You have a disability that prevents you from returning to previous employment

Referral
You'll need a referral to an MRS counselor, which is generally made by a therapist or the attending physician.
