The 28th Annual Mary Free Bed Fine Arts Exhibition

April 19, 2010 - September 3, 2010

The annual Mary Free Bed Fine Arts Exhibition focuses on contributions of Michigan artists who are physically challenged. The event promotes community awareness and education and provides a showcase for artists. The Mary Free Bed Guild purchases selected works from the exhibition for permanent display in the hospital. The remaining works, at the discretion of the artist, may be available for sale. Please visit the exhibition Monday through Friday, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, on the second floor of the Mary Free Bed inpatient building.

Eligibility
 

• Open to any Michigan artist, 18 years or older, who is physically challenged.
• Only works produced after physical limitation occurred are accepted.

Entry Procedures
 

• No entry fee required.
• Only recently completed original fine art is accepted.
• Each artist may enter up to three pieces for possible inclusion in the show. The actual number displayed by an artist depends on space availability.
• Works must be framed, wired, and ready for hanging when submitted. Due to the nature of the facility, the Guild reserves the right to reject unsuitable subject matter.
• First-time artists: Please submit a recent photograph and a brief biography describing your type of artwork, disability, and art background.

Liability

Every precaution is taken to ensure protection of entries. Mary Free Bed is not responsible for art delivered in damaged condition. Artists assume risk for unclaimed works left after the end of the pick-up week, September 7 – 10, 2010 unless prior arrangements are made with Mary Free Bed's administration office (616.242.0400).
