Adult Neurological Program
The Adult Neurological Program at the Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital Outpatient Therapy Center specializes in providing individual or multidisciplinary therapy evaluations and treatments to adults with neurological impairments.
Mary Free Bed's specially trained therapists provide a comprehensive evaluation and assessment process to provide individualized therapy for each patient to increase knowledge, safety, and, ultimately, independence with functional skills.
Who Uses These Services
Adult patients with any of the following:
Spinal cord injury
Various other neurological diagnoses
To be seen, a patient must first have his or her condition evaluated by a physician who writes a prescription.
Depending on the therapy discipline, a therapist will perform a detailed assessment to:
Determine problem areas and need for skilled therapy intervention
Devise a treatment program
Set realistic treatment goals
Each therapist involved in the patient's treatment will design an individualized therapy program based on the patient’s identified problem areas to achieve functional goals and maximize the patient’s independence.
Patient and Family Education
We consider family involvement to be a key component of our program. We educate both the patient and the family on any potential safety concerns. We provide training and support to ensure that the patient’s treatment is able to continue at home, and in other settings.
