Mary Free Bed’s Outpatient Amputee Care
Because you’ll need time to heal after your surgery, you’ll generally be fitted for your upper or lower extremity prosthesis and begin prosthesis training in the outpatient setting.
Mary Free Bed’s team of outpatient physical and occupational therapists will tailor your sessions to focus on functional movement and activities of daily living using your prosthesis. The outpatient team will also help you develop strength, confidence, and restore vitality.
During your therapy sessions, Mary Free Bed’s rehabilitation specialists will integrate your individual treatment plan with a multidisciplinary team approach to help you:
-
Increase the time you wear your prosthesis
-
Increase your overall function
-
Increase your walking speed
-
Reduce your fear of falling
For top quality care and for your convenience, all the rehabilitation professionals and services you need for your amputee care and prosthetic device can be accessed at the Mary Free Bed campus in downtown Grand Rapids.
