Adaptive Sports

Individuals who have sustained a brain injury may not be able to participate in leisure activities at the same level they did prior to their injury. The Mary Free Bed Therapeutic Recreation Specialists offer adaptive sports and recreation clinics to patients who were served at Mary Free Bed as well as to those in the community who would like to resume leisure activities.

The following clinics are currently offered:

  • Golf
  • Canoe/Kayak
  • Rock Climbing
  • Water Ski
  • Downhill Ski
  • Gun and Archery

All clinics are run in collaboration with Kentwood Parks and Recreation. Additionally, the Downhill Ski Clinic is a collaborative effort with Cannonsburg Ski Resort; Hunting Clinic with Hope Network Rehabilitation Services; Rock Climbing Clinic with Grand Valley State University Climbing Center.
