Marty makes strides – and plenty of friends – at Mary Free Bed at Sparrow

It’s been a long road to recovery for Marty McDougall, who, for more than year, has been coping with the effects of a fall she sustained in May 2014.

Every day, with help from her team at Mary Free Bed at Sparrow, Marty is improving her mobility and strength. She says she “clicked” immediately with her “wonderful” care team and she wants to spread the word to others who may need rehabilitation.

“The staff, the people who are here – I think of them as family,” says Marty, whose positive attitude and friendly demeanor have helped her to get to know most everyone on her floor. “They’ve all welcomed me back like it was a family reunion…they’re always in tune with the patients.”

Watch the video above for Marty’s story and to learn more about Mary Free Bed at Sparrow in Lansing.

Tell Marty I am thinking of her and hope to be able to see her when I can. She used to babysit with my oldest son Ernie who just turned 41 last week. How time flies. I also worked with Marty at the old Lansing General(in fact I took her old job). And we were in the same card club for years after Gary and I were married. With all of my love and support. God Bless you.
