Orthotics + Prosthetics Residency
The Mary Free Bed Orthotics and Prosthetics Residency is designed to develop recent graduates into exemplary clinicians by providing patient care exposure, opportunities for research, fabrication and collaboration with other clinical team members. The program’s mission is not only to prepare you for your boards, but also give in-the-field experience to further your career.

Curriculum
Residents rotate through various mentors. All aspects of patient care are covered, from evaluation and consultation to diagnostic fittings, delivery and follow-up. Residents also have the opportunity to shadow other disciplines (PT, OT, etc.) for experience in team-oriented patient care. In addition, the hospital provides exposure to rehabilitation, clinics, acute, inpatient and outpatient working environments.
Recipient Selection
An interview with the Residency Selection Committee is required for all candidates. Each candidate will be selected based on clinical experience and education.
Term
Residency positions are available in orthotics or prosthetics to allow focus on each discipline individually. Each residency is 12 months in accordance with National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education standards.
Employment
Residents receive full-time employee status at Mary Free Bed, which includes full-time benefits.
