Thank you for your interest in Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. We greatly appreciate your interest in shadowing one of our staff members. We hope to connect you to a staff member in your interest area and introduce you to the services Mary Free Bed provides. Please note that we receive hundreds of requests each year for job shadows, and we try to be as accommodating as possible. Out of respect for our staff’s time, we’ve developed a process to manage requests and ensure our patient needs always come first.
We define a job shadow as a one-time opportunity to shadow one of our staff up to four hours. Job shadows are meant only for undecided students looking to gain insight into the profession.
Job shadow opportunities are limited to the following professions:
- Physical therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Recreational therapy
- Orthotics and prosthetics
A job shadow may be the right fit if you are:
- A high school student (16 years or older)
- Enrolled to start college
- A college student who is undecided on a major
- Looking to make a career change
You are required to attend one of our Career Exploration Seminars to be eligible for a one-time job shadow. This is a great opportunity to not only learn about the career of your interest but many other careers as well. Click here for details.
Consider our College Student Volunteer Program if you:
- Have already chosen a major/academic focus, and/or
- Need observation hours to fulfill a class requirement or for graduate school requirements/applications.
