Grand Rapids, Mich. – Mary Free Bed Medical Group is pleased to announce that Dr. Lisa Voss, a specialist in pediatric rehabilitation; Dr. Rebekah Rajlich, a family medicine physician who specializes in pain management; and Doris Jacobs, a physician’s assistant, have joined its comprehensive team of experts.
Dr. Voss came to Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in November, following a fellowship in pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Michigan. She works full-time as a pediatric physiatrist in the inpatient program and the outpatient clinic at Mary Free Bed.
Mary Free Bed is one of the only inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in Michigan with a unit designated exclusively for children and teens. Mary Free Bed’s pediatric team works with young patients who have experienced brain injury, brain-related illnesses and concussion, cancer, neurological conditions, stroke, spinal cord injury, fractures, chronic pain conditions, burns, congenital disabilities such as cerebral palsy, and other debilitating illnesses and injuries.
“I’ve never wavered in my interest in working with kids – I love their spirit,” said Dr. Voss, whose experience includes working with children with special needs. “Kids have amazing drive. They’re going to find a way to get better, and I’m going to help them find that way.”
Dr. Voss earned her undergraduate degree in speech and hearing sciences from the University of Iowa and her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Michigan as well as her fellowship.
Dr. Rajlich joined The Pain Center at Mary Free Bed in November. She specializes in the treatment of patients with disabling pain, headaches and fibromyalgia. She takes a compassionate approach to pain care through education and motivation that promotes a healing environment.
“I encourage the active participation of each patient in his or her care to maximize their well-being and quality of life and improved well-being while minimizing potentially harmful interventions,” she said.
Dr. Rajlich is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed her residency in family medicine at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners.
Ms. Jacobs will work with Mary Free Bed Medical Group physiatrists to provide patient care in the hospital’s inpatient programs. She is a graduate of Wayne State University, where she earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies.
She came to Mary Free Bed from Michigan Rehabilitation Physicians, a private physiatry group in Farmington Hills, Mich.
