• Managing your pain
• Providing physical and occupational therapy evaluations
• Physician assessment
• Adaptive equipment
• Gait analysis
• Exercise education
• Prosthetic adjustment, modification or training
• Helping you with the emotional adjustment of your injury
Dr. Ben Bruinsma, Mary Free Bed’s Amputation Program medical director, provides ongoing amputation rehabilitation management of our program. While at the clinic, you’ll see a rehabilitation nurse, physical therapist and a certified prosthetist. These amputee specialists work together as a team to provide you with integrated treatment and outpatient care. Open communication and a positive, problem-solving approach help us to keep your goals and progress in focus.
You’ll need to be referred to the clinic by Mary Free Bed or by another medical provider or source. The Amputee Clinic is a preferred provider for most area insurance groups. The clinic is held on the first and third Wednesdays of every month.
