The Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, a nonprofit in Grand Rapids, restores hope and freedom through rehabilitation for people who are at some of the lowest points of their lives. Through expert knowledge and compassionate care, Mary Free Bed strengthens the mind, trains the body and inspires hope in patients and families.
The Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation secures resources to support the hospital in returning people to the most function, the most ability and the most independence. Your financial support helps patients and their families experience transformative rehabilitation.

Join the Movement - Capital Campaign
The “Join the Movement” capital campaign supports the exciting expansion and renovation project allowing us to expand our footprint in the rehabilitation arena and create a nationally recognized system of care model.
Our $66.4 million expansion and renovation more than doubles our number of inpatient beds, allowing us to help even more patients in West Michigan and beyond. To date, we’re at more than 80% of our $16 million community philanthropy goal.
Mary Free Bed is becoming a leader in rehabilitative technologies and advancements which will help more Michigan children and adults achieve better outcomes. The project also brings with it new, innovative programs that meet today’s needs, such as Parkinson’s, Pulmonary, Multiple Sclerosis and The Betty Bloomer Ford Cancer Rehabilitation Program; and we’re looking ahead to tomorrow. Mary Free Bed is now a teaching and research hospital and collaborating with major hospitals in the region.
Please “Join the Movement” and join our donor wall of other community members who support the future of Mary Free Bed. Your investment will continue to position Mary Free Bed on the forefront of innovation and excellence.
In the midst of this transformational change, one constant remains. We will continue to rebuild lives one patient at a time. Thank you for considering support of this transformative project for our community.
