GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Registration is now open as the KeyBank Gran Fondo returns Saturday, June 26, 2027, for a full day of West Michigan riding, catered rest stops and a finish-line party in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, all benefiting Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation.

Known as Michigan’s Big Ride, the event combines the energy of a major cycling celebration with a cause close to home. During the first three years of its partnership with Mary Free Bed, riders, donors and supporters have raised more than $185,000 to help restore hope and freedom through rehabilitation.

The 2027 ride will continue supporting Mary Free Bed Kids, Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports and Recreational Therapy. These programs help children and adults build independence, stay active and reconnect with the activities they love.

“The support generated through the Gran Fondo has a direct impact on our athletes, patients and families,” said Maria Besta, director of integrative therapies and adaptive recreation at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation. “Fundraising helps our teams provide access to adaptive equipment, competitions, classes and clinics that keep people engaged, healthy and connected. What starts as a bike ride in June creates opportunities that last all year. From our Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports and Recreational Therapy programs to Mary Free Bed Kids, every dollar raised helps people build independence, stay active and reconnect with the activities they love.”

“Fondo is everything we love about putting on a ride: great routes, good food, a big party downtown and people coming together for a cause that matters,” said Jon Conkling, KeyBank Gran Fondo event director. “You don’t have to be a hardcore cyclist to be part of it. Bring your friends, bring your family, pick your distance and make a day of it. We can’t wait to do it again.”

KeyBank returns as the event’s title sponsor, continuing its support of this community cycling tradition.
