Student Resources

At Mary Free Bed, we empower others to achieve their greatest potential. Students can discover that same sense of purpose through a variety of development programs.

Internships

Our interns are an important part of the team. As part of the Mary Free Bed community, you’ll get an insider’s perspective on the mission that drives us and the culture we live every day. To be eligible for our summer internship program, you must be enrolled in a college, university or graduate program.

College Student Volunteer Program

This program offers undergraduates insight into their future careers and exposure to a hospital setting. Three sessions are offered based on the semesters of local universities:

Fall (August – December)
Winter (January – April)
Summer (May – August)

This program can accommodate undergraduate occupational therapy, physical therapy, recreational therapy or anyone interested in rehabilitation.

The main responsibilities for the Student Volunteers are to assist therapist during session, special projects, cleaning therapy gyms, and helping set up before and after therapy sessions.

Students are expected to volunteer on the same day each week for the entire 13-15-week session. Volunteer shifts are 3-4 hours and the average student receives 40-50 hours per session.
