Mentorship

Mentorship Program

At Mary Free Bed, mentorship is a cornerstone of our residency program, fostering personal and professional growth.

Mentorship Pairings

  • PGY-2 residents are matched with volunteer faculty mentors known for their expertise in teaching, relationship building, and vision.
  • Pairings are based on residents’ career interests. For those undecided, mentors are chosen based on shared interests outside of medicine to encourage meaningful connections.

What to Expect

Residents meet with their mentors at least quarterly, discussing topics such as:
  • Goal setting and vision
  • Career aspirations
  • Wellness
Mentors guide residents through next steps, including fellowship applications and job searches.
