Deconditioned Rehabilitation

Rebuilding Strength After Illness

After a prolonged hospital stay, surgery or serious illness, it’s common to feel more fatigued than usual. The Deconditioned Rehabilitation Program at Mary Free Bed is designed to help you rebuild strength, restore mobility and regain confidence so you can return to the activities and routines that matter most.

Why Choose Mary Free Bed?

We believe in the power of choice. Our team provides personalized, evidence-based care and advocates for your recovery every day. When you “Ask for Mary” you’re choosing a partner who’s committed to helping you return to independence—with dignity, respect and compassion.

Maximizing Your Potential

Your recovery journey is unique. We’ll tailor therapies to your goals and tolerance, but the typical schedule includes:

  • Therapy 5–7 days a week, 2–3 hours per session
  • Physical therapy will focus on strength, endurance and mobility (including ceiling-mounted ambulation systems.)
  • Occupational therapy will translate gains into everyday tasks like getting dressed or cooking.
  • You’ll be evaluated for assistive devices and adaptive equipment.

Preparing for Independence

We believe recovery works best when it incorporates your everyday activities and routines. That’s why you’ll have opportunities to practice skills in real settings, navigate community excursions safely and learn strategies and equipment to support ongoing progress once you leave.

Beyond Inpatient Treatment

Our care doesn’t end when you leave the hospital. We offer a full continuum of support to keep you moving forward:

Outpatient Therapy

Home Health Care (Mary Free Bed, Home & Community)
