GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — West Michigan’s premier cycling event is back this summer with even more momentum and an even bigger impact.
The KeyBank Gran Fondo returns to downtown Grand Rapids on Saturday, June 27, bringing together cyclists of all abilities for a high-energy ride that supports a meaningful cause. For the third year, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital is grateful to be the event’s official charity partner, with 100 percent of participant fundraising directly supporting its mission.
In the past two years combined, riders and supporters have raised more than $141,000 for Mary Free Bed programs and services.
A Ride for Everyone
The KeyBank Gran Fondo offers something for every rider, from seasoned cyclists to families looking for a fun day outdoors. Participants can choose from four scenic routes: an 80-mile ride, a 40-mile ride, a 25-mile ride or a 12-mile family ride.
All routes begin and end in downtown Grand Rapids and include catered rest stops, culminating with a signature finish line festival featuring gourmet food, craft beer, music and more.
Fueling the Mission of Mary Free Bed
Participants can fundraise individually or as part of a team, earning exclusive Gran Fondo gear and prizes while supporting the following life-changing programs at Mary Free Bed.
Mary Free Bed Kids
Mary Free Bed Kids provides family-centered care to help kids grow, learn and thrive. Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation and Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital are partnering to build Michigan’s first pediatric rehabilitation hospital, designed exclusively for infants, children and teens. Opening in fall 2026, Joan Secchia Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital will act as a hub for new and existing Mary Free Bed Kids programs, enhancing collaboration, advancing treatment and improving outcomes for young patients across the state and country.
Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports
One of the largest programs of its kind in the country, Mary Free Bed Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports (WAS) provides year-round opportunities for people with disabilities to stay active and competitive. Athletes of all ages participate in sports such as basketball, rugby, handcycling, softball and more.
Recreational Therapy
Recreational therapy helps patients reconnect with the activities they love as part of their recovery. Through music, art, gardening, aquatics, animal-assisted therapy and community outings, patients find healing through meaningful experiences.
