Rehabilitation after Complex Illness or Injury

Inpatient Rehabilitation: Comprehensive Care, Personalized for You

Our inpatient program provides intensive therapy and 24/7 medical support to help you recover and regain function. The Intensive Medical Rehabilitation Program at our Grand Rapids hospital is specially designed for patients with complex injuries and includes:

  • Private patient rooms designed for comfort and healing
  • Low nurse-to-patient ratio for personalized attention
  • Daily consultations with various physicians specialized in rehabilitation, internal medicine, pulmonology and more
  • A dedicated therapy gym equipped with wall oxygen for respiratory needs
  • Dialysis-capable rooms and 24/7 respiratory therapy
  • Advanced bedside monitoring for enhanced safety
  • Ventilator weaning and patient and family training for patients to go home on the vent.
  • Tracheostomy weaning, BiPAP therapy, sleep disorder screening
  • Our team designs your therapy plan to meet your specific goals. You’ll typically participate in three hours of therapy, five days a week, focusing on mobility, pain management, strength and regaining independence.

Outpatient Therapy: Continuing Your Progress

Once you’ve completed inpatient rehabilitation, you’ll transition to outpatient therapy to continue building strength and independence. Our outpatient team includes rehabilitation physicians, therapists and care coordinators who work together to ensure your progress remains on track.
