Mary Free Bed Named Top Rehabilitation Hospital by Newsweek for 3rd Year

For the third straight year, Mary Free Bed has been recognized as one of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers by Newsweek health care analysts. The rankings are based on scores for quality of care, service, follow-up treatment and accommodations/amenities. Clinician recommendations were also included in the calculations.

Newsweek looked at all 50 states and spotlighted 255 organizations. Mary Free Bed ranked 1st among Michigan rehabilitation facilities and 11th nationally.

Newsweek partnered with global market research firm Statista for the calculations. The selection methodology analyzes survey data from thousands of medical experts as well as outcome information from the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Newsweek also expanded its methodology to include accreditation from the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities International (CARF). In addition to a general CARF accreditation, Mary Free Bed holds 10 special CARF accreditations.

Mary Free Bed recently celebrated another national ranking. U.S. News & World Report analysis placed Mary Free Bed 17th in the country for the second year in a row. The U.S. News review covered all states and evaluated 799 hospitals. Mary Free Bed outscored rehabilitation providers in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.

“Our amazing teams at Mary Free Bed deliver outstanding care to our patients,” said Mary Free Bed CEO Kent Riddle. “This level of recognition is possible thanks to their dedication to our mission, each other and the communities we serve.”
