Mary Free Bed Receives 2022 Outstanding Community Partner Award from CMU

Mary Free Bed is honored to be a recipient of Central Michigan University’s 2022 Outstanding Partner Community Award. The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions Community Partnership Awards are presented annually to faculty, staff, students and community partners in recognition and support of reciprocal and sustainable collaborations that align with the College’s pursuit of excellence in scholarship, education, and community service.

Every two years, the Outstanding Community Partner Award is presented to community partners in appreciation of their ongoing support and partnership with the CMU College of Health Professions. This year, Mary Free Bed shares the award with another exceptional community partner, Spectrum Health West Michigan.

Members of the Mary Free Bed Education Academy attended the recognition event and poster session last week, accepting the award on behalf of the hospital. “We are proud to play a role and in supporting the journey and education of rehabilitation healthcare students and professionals at CMU,” said Jeannette Pollatz, Mary Free Bed director of interprofessional education. “And we commend CMU’s dedication to creating value for its students and its pursuit of excellence in scholarship and education.”

Mary Free Bed has partnered with The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions for more than a decade, providing internships, clinical placements and volunteer opportunities in health administration, physical therapy, speech-language pathology and more.
