There’s a rhythm to Mary Free Bed’s rehabilitation that provides structure and helps you manage each day during your recovery. You’ll work with the same core team of spinal cord injury physicians, nurses and therapists throughout your stay. Their in-depth knowledge of your individual condition ensures better and quicker outcomes.
Our hospital has been designed to maximize your function while fostering a comfortable and uplifting environment. We provide efficient and effective therapy by carefully locating services and technology.
For example, our main therapy spaces are located on the same floor as patient rooms. This enables clinical team members to more closely collaborate and spend more time with you.
You can practice multiple daily living skills prior to going home in a specialized treatment space located on your floor. And, if you’re able, you can practice standing and walking with the aid of ceiling-mounted technology, like the ZeroG.
Quiet, private patient rooms have large windows, spacious bathrooms, pull-out couches and 42-inch flat panel televisions. Multiple “destination locations,” including a solarium with a two-sided fireplace and a rooftop terrace, offer relaxing spaces to visit with friends and family. Our clinical experts help you understand your injury and learn ways to adapt activities, but our former patients and their family members also play an important role. We’ll introduce you to others who have similar injuries and life circumstances. Our patients tell us this peer support and camaraderie is an invaluable part of their rehabilitation.
When your inpatient stay is over and you become a graduate of the Mary Free Bed inpatient program, you can continue to receive therapy through our Continuum Outpatient program. We’ll be here to offer lifelong follow-up services for as long as you need us. This comprehensive level of care makes Mary Free Bed’s Spinal Cord Injury Program unique.
