Visiting Hours & Information

Below is visitor information to help patients, families, visitors and staff be as comfortable and healthy as possible.

Visiting Hours
Immediate family: Our suggested visiting hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily. Members of your family or others who’ll help with your care when you leave Mary Free Bed are welcomed and encouraged to take part in your therapy sessions whenever possible.

Other visitors: Suggested visiting hours for those other than immediate family are 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-8 p.m., because patients are likely to be in therapy other times of the day.

Pediatric patients: Parents and guardians of pediatric patients may visit any time, 24 hours a day.

Illness
For the benefit of all patients, we ask that you delay your visit if you’re ill, even with a common cold.

Visiting With Children
Your children are welcome and encouraged to visit you while you stay with us. We do ask that all visiting children are supervised by an adult at all times. Please avoid bringing children who are even mildly ill to Mary Free Bed to visit.

Food
Food is available from the Mercy Health Saint Mary’s cafeteria, Urban Platter. Homemade meals and baked goods aren’t allowed due to Michigan Public Health Food Code. Only food items prepared by a restaurant or Mercy Health Saint Mary’s Cafeteria are permitted on campus for our patients.

Tobacco Policy
Mary Free Bed’s campus is tobacco free in compliance with Michigan’s Smoke-Free Air Law and the standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. This policy was adopted out of concern for the health and well-being of all our patients and employees. Our tobacco free policy applies to all employees, patients, visitors, vendors and contractors. Thank you for your cooperation with this policy.
